My name is Matthew Wade Solberg. I started building homes in 2004 and have been honing my skills ever since. I moved to Asheville and launched Solberg Builders LLC in 2014.

I learned the fundamentals of building in the Bay Area, California as shop foreman for Modern Cabana LLC - a company that built custom auxilliary dwelling units. Later I became a crew foreman for Saturn Construction in San Francisco. I managed a carpentry crew, numerous subcontractors for all disciplines, engineering & architectural site meetings, city permitting & inspection and, most importantly, client relations.

Since being in business for myself, I've built a small team of dedicated craftspeople with broad sets of talents and skills who I can confidently task with all of your project needs. I also have an extended network of professional subcontractors who I bring in to handle mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.  My subs are well-rounded, approachable, and trustworthy. All of the people I partner with are paid at or above market value for their work and I always carry appropriate levels of general liability insurance.

I believe in and insist on a work environment where my team have a stake and a say in what we produce and how we produce it. On a Solberg Builders project, all involved should be secure, respected, and independent. We uphold a culture of anti-racism and enlightened community-interest.
